You want to be at the top of your game and the best way to be the best aviator is to anticipate blunders that you tend to make. Covering all ages, these are the 5 ordinary slip-ups that pilots could encounter.

Ignoring the Obvious

Being the best means a lot of hard work, and hard work could only lead to eventual mastery of your craft and that means covering all aspects of your work.

And that means a keen attention to details and not leaving anything to chance. Pay attention to that list that guides you from taking off to landing safely and maximize it to your advantage.

Even if you have already munched every letter of that list, peruse and review some more on regular basis.

Clearing turns

Contain that excitement and the likelihood is you will avoid any untoward incidents. Prior to your initial maneuverings, check first if your surroundings are free of any obstructions. Once you are pretty sure, then you are off to a good start and you can actually determine how to start, and start right.

Mind your crosswind

This might be new to you but pilot are generally advising by AIM to turn crosswind 300 feet from pattern altitude. That should translate to a turn crosswind of 700 feet when your pattern altitude is 1000 feet.

Runway signs and markings

The view up there can be confusing and more so if your airport destination is alien to the usual map. You can spruce up your radar by making sure that you have a taxiway diagram of every airport that dots your travel map. And make sure that you have mastered and updated your knowledge of runway signs and markings.

VFR Cloud clearance requirements

Now get serious on this one. Even examiners could misguide their students on running into clouds and to avoid such incident from ever happening, every pilot student must remember these basic figures: 1000 feet above, 500 feet below and 2000 feet horizontal from the clouds.

The numbers represent proper cloud clearance and any student who are flying beyond or below these required numbers are endangering themselves and should not hesitate telling their instructors that they could also be breaking air regulations.

Whether travelers take airline flights, cruises, trains, buses, or travel by rental cars on vacations and holidays, most people are curious and would like to know what is new and cool in vacation and holiday travel accessories.

If you would like to know what travel accessories are available to make your trip easier, more comfortable, and safer, here are some great products. These items should be available at most luggage and travel accessories stores.

What are compression bags and how much space can they save you when you pack your luggage?

If you use space saving clear plastic compression bags when packing your clothes, you can save up to a whopping 80% more space in your luggage. They can be used over and over again for many years of very easy packing.

How does a non-slip security wallet work?

One accessory you should consider purchasing is the non-slip security travel wallet. It’s about the size as a regular wallet but has non-slip rubber on one side which catches on the inside of your pocket if it accidentally slips out of your pocket, or if a thief attempts to pick your pocket. Always put your wallet in a front pocket. Never carry your wallet in your back pocket. Professional thieves call it “the sucker pocket”.

Here is a great trick! You can change your wallet into a non-slip wallet by putting a couple of wide elastic bands around it. Another solution that will help with the problem of pickpockets is a chain-equipped security wallet which can be attached to your belt.

The secret waist wallet compliments the non-slip travel wallet. It fits under your blouse or shirt, but is still easily accessible. It’s not a good idea to lift your blouse or shirt up and open this wallet in public as you never know who is watching, like a would be robber, or pickpocket. It is best to open it discretely where nobody can see you doing it, such as in a public washroom stall.

A leather money belt that has a concealed, zippered pocket on the inner side of it, is an excellent security travel product. You can hide paper money, small, foldable documents, or a key in the secure, zippered pocket.

There are stay-up, elastic security socks that have a concealed, zippered pocket on the inside of each one of a pair of these socks. These socks would be extremely difficult for a pickpocket to get at.

Another unique accessory is the RFID blocking passport holder. This radio frequency identification holder protects your passport, and other important documents that could be compromised by data-stealing hackers.

A combination and key accessible combo luggage lock makes it possible for the custom’s officials to unlock your checked luggage for inspection with a special skeleton key, then lock your luggage up again. You can then dial the combination and you can open your luggage. This can save you a lot of time and money replacing regular locks that custom’s agents would normally have to break to gain entry to inspect your luggage. Another real plus with these combo locks is that you do not have any keys to worry about losing or replacing.

You can carry a personal, battery-operated security alarm that emits a loud, piercing sound that may help ward off a robber or mugger. Another product that is inexpensive and that will produce the same effect is a referee’s whistle, which you can hide under your shirt or blouse, attached to a string and hung around your neck.

Battery-operated hotel room intruder alarms are excellent hotel room safety devices. One kind of alarm hangs on the room’s door knob. Any movement of the door or door knob will set off the alarm. Another one is the doorstop type which you push under the hotel room door’s bottom edge. If someone tries to open the door, the alarm will sound.

Women travelers can get an innovative security purse that has a steel cable sewn into the strap. This will foil a thief who attempts to cut through the strap and tries to take off with their purse.

Easy to inflate, easy to carry, the pocket pillow measures approximately 6″ x 4″ x 1″. It inflates to about 19″ x 15″, and makes a comfortable pillow when you need to rest your head or sleep.

Make sure that you protect your eyes when traveling in sunny climates by wearing sunglasses that carry both a UVA as well as a UVB certified protection label.

A handy little book light that clamps on to the edge of your book enables you to conveniently read in dim light or total darkness. It also allows you to read in the dark without disturbing your sleeping travel companion.

If you like to wear a backpack you should consider a steel-mesh equipped backpack. These security backpacks have a steel mesh that is sewn in the bottom and sides, the vulnerable places where a thief could slash it with a knife. If this happens, everything will tumble out, and the thief and his accomplices can grab anything of valuable and run away in different directions.

You should keep in mind that you will probably need adaptor plugs and converters if you are traveling to certain countries.

A large travel accessories store, Magellan’s, has an award-winning catalogue that has everything for travelers from adaptor plugs to secret security wallets. You can order their catalogue online, at Magellans.com

Tilley Endurables, a legendary manufacturer of sun-protective travel clothing and accessories, created the world-famous Tilley Hat. They specialize in making stylish, comfortable, and practical outdoor hats and travel clothing. Most fabrics they use in manufacturing their hats and clothing carry a certified UPF 50 rated label, which is the highest rating for sun protection available. You can get their sun-protective clothing and accessories catalogue by going to their website, at Tilleys.com.

If you have a passion for flying and often thought about being a private pilot then it’s something that you should put the wheels of motion into and pursue it. It’s not something that you want to look back on in life and say you wish you had done it. To start on this endeavor the first thing you need to do is start doing some research as to just what it’s going to take to be able to accomplish this.

You may find that there are certain circumstances at a particular time that will prevent you from doing so but at least if you have a good idea of what the requirements are that you need to work towards. You may have to make many changes in your lifestyle but if this is something that you really want to do then there isn’t any hurdle that you won’t be able to overcome in order to accomplish this.

Many individuals that have left school feel that going back to any type training program is just not feasible. This is not the case and it doesn’t matter what your age anybody can learn. As long as you have a good command of the English language and are able to read and write then you have the requirements that are necessary and of course being of the age of 17 or over.

Time is another concern being as many individuals hold full-time jobs and have families as well and find it most difficult to put time aside for this type of endeavor. However when you think about it 40 hours is all that is required in respect to the actual flying time and that really isn’t a great deal of time especially when you can spread it out over a certain period of time. It’s not like you have to be there every day five days a week and you can do a combination of weekend courses or even night courses if this works for you.

One factor that is always a big cog in the wheel is money. Most often everything else can be put into place but when it comes down to the actual dollars to pay for the course this can be difficult to raise. However if it’s something that you really want in life than you will find a way to tackle it. Put way some money whenever you get the chance and you will be surprised at how fast it will build up. If you stick to your guns then chances are you are going to be able to put that dream of wanting to become a private pilot into reality.

Another area that may be a real problem is finding a training center around your area that offers private pilot courses. Again though if there is a will there will be a way that you will be able to find something within your area. Although you may have to drive a little to get to the particular course in your area most likely you will find that there is one available to you. The one thing that you must realize is you’re not going to know what’s available to you until you get out there and really do some research.

Now you can learn to fly easily and get your pilot training done in 10 days or less. Private Pilot DVD is the complete flight training course that covers JAR and FAA pilots.

It’s always exciting when you complete one of your great ambitions in life and that you accomplish it successfully. It doesn’t seem long though before the excitement or self-satisfaction fades and what you have accomplished now is just being taken for granted. This is often the case with individuals that get their private pilot’s license.

It would seem that after spending so much time concentrating on their studies and utilizing all their free time to complete their course that the excitement and anticipation would remain. In many cases though it just doesn’t seem to be that way.

This could be because many times when one is taking a course such as a private pilot course that it becomes such a burden and almost mind-boggling type scenario that one just wants to break away from it once it’s completed.

This is really doing an injustice to oneself however, when you have been able to obtain a private pilot’s license and you are not using it to your advantage.

We should really think of being able to utilize this in your free time and for your holidays. After all no doubt you paid a fair amount of money to gain this privilege so why not use it. One also has to admit that being able to pilot one’s own plane is the height of enjoyment and an alternate way of getting away from all the stress.

If you find that the excitement is just not there anymore perhaps you need to go further with your training so that you can fly bigger planes or do more. Obviously there was a passion there for flying in the first place or you would never have attempted to get your license. It might be time to sit down and take a look and see why you have lost your zest for flying and see if you can gain it back

Perhaps if you started to plan some short trips now the enthusiasm would come back to you. Another thing you may want to do is try and contact some of your classmates that graduated with you. Perhaps a reunion where you can meet at a central point would put back some of the joy that you obviously experienced in the beginning.

Perhaps you are under a lot of stress at the moment and time constraints and are just not getting the time that you would like. It is important though that you do slot some time for some recreation. Ideally in your particular case being a private pilot than taking a trip somewhere would be the perfect medicine for stress.

Then again maybe you find that flying on your own is lonely. However with your license you should be able to take at least one guest with you. So why not invite someone for a weekend away where you would enjoy not only being able to fly yourself but to enjoy a new location with some fresh sights away from home.

Want to learn to fly? FAA and JAA certified instructor reveals the goldmine of private pilot manual and video training previously only available to atp flight school.

Naturally, you might conceive that private jet charters are for those who have jets, only this represents a common misconception. Same as a charter boat, private jet charters are genuinely for anybody and are generally utilized by those who take flight for their line of work, because this could get really irksome and a private charter extends occupation traveler’s the chance to place the customer service back into flying. But what constitutes it that private jets extend that commercialized airlines do not?

1 -Ease of Traveling – less ostentatious planes demand trivial room for getting away from the ground and bringing the plane back down. Consequently, this allows private jet charter companies the opportunity to come and go by various private locations throughout several countries. Commercial jets, basically get in and set out by commercial airports and call for extra room for take up and landing places. It’s therefore more challenging to fly commercially since even when you do, you wind up with numerous hours of land transit after your flight simply to reach your desired destination.

2 – Its for your Safety – This constitutes among the biggest issues effecting the commercialized airline business and aerodromes. The ability to uphold the safety of their riders is really bounded due to the amount of traffic that moves through these locations on a steady basis. Security system checkpoints and searches must be cautiously accomplished as to deter some sort of terrorist act.

Although while flying on a private jet charter, you will come across the reality that security measures are still followed, just they are frequently easier on the passengers and the staff. Since most private jet charters are flying through on smaller airports and are carrying on with only a moderated amount of guests at a time, it is not just less problematic for them to uphold a close reign upon their security measures, but they’re a good deal more flier friendly.

3 – Relaxation – Among the most higher-ranking qualities of private jet charter services is that you are able to journey without disturbance by additional customers during your flight. This allows, particularly the business traveler, with time to get some work finished, take a rest period, or merely loosen up. Being able to consumption this time more effectively cuts back not solely on the number of troubles attached to traveling regularly, but as well as in a substantial time savings.

If you are trying for a Private Jet you can check out a travel agent.

If you really want something in your life then the only one stopping you from getting it is yourself. This is something that many successful helicopter pilots will tell you. If you have a passion for flying and have a particular interest in helicopters then that there is no reason that you could not become a pilot yourself..

Once you have made up your mind that this is something that you would like to go after then you need to consider several things and there are many trials ahead of you that, nevertheless may be difficult, but that you can overcome.

The first thing you must make sure of when setting your goal is that you are medically fit. There is no point in going to all the work to prepare yourself for a course that you are not going to be able to qualify for. So the first thing you want to do is ensure that you are going to be able to pass a medical exam that is equivalent to the one that you will be facing in order to get your license.

Then the next thing you need to do is really look into the cost factors as to what it will become to reach your goal. Don’t be disappointed when you realize that becoming a helicopter pilot is not going to be a cheap endeavor. It could range anywhere up to $50,000, and you are going to have to do a lot of shopping around to find out where the best schools are at the best price. The other thing that you’re going to have to take into account as well is what is close to you that offers the type of training that you want and if not are you prepared to relocate in order to do this?

Once you start looking into your training, then there are still lots of decisions to make. First of all, you need to decide whether you want to be a commercial helicopter pilot where you can put your new skills to a job environment. Or are you looking at becoming a private helicopter pilot more for enjoyment.

Most often individuals are under the misconception that commercial helicopter pilots are in the high income bracket. This is not all that factual, but again it would depend on what area of commercial flying you went into. Naturally, as you gain experience you will be higher priced as far as being paid goes.

So aside from finding a place to go and raising the money the other thing that you have to consider is are you ready to make the time commitment that becoming a helicopter pilot is going to take? It is not something that is going to happen overnight, and you are going to have to dedicate yourself. If you are not able to stay structured and attend class regularly you are basically throwing your money away because you will be paying for something that you would not have attended.

Finally, the fastest and easiest way to get your pilot license with 2 hours of intensive helicopter pilot school video training and 2000 pages of flight manuals.

Many people don’t quite understand the requirements needed to become a private pilot. There are a lot of subject areas both on the ground and in the airplane you will need to cover to meet the requirements for your pilot training. Many people don’t completely understand the private Pilot Training requirements needed and just look at the Private Pilot Training general requirements.

There are many requirements needed in order to complete each phase of your Private Pilot Training. Pre Solo, Post Solo and Flight test Preparation are the three phases of your private pilot license training.

In most cases you will find something like this outline of the general requirements. Remember this is just the general requirements for you to be eligible to take the private pilot practical test.

40 Hours Total

20 Hours Dual Instruction

10 Hours Solo

Now in other places you may see some added information

3 Hours Instrument

3 Hours Night

5 Hours Solo Cross Country

Now you want to remember this is just the general requirement. This does not include all of the student pilot requirements and the ground instruction requirements. I have listed below the other requirements needed to complete your Private Pilot Training.

Student Pilot Requirements: When you are ready to solo an aircraft you are know as a student pilot. There are two sections of requirements that will apply to you. The first area are the pre solo requirements. These are the requirements needed before you can go up and fly the plane by yourself. Before Solo, student pilots must meet the aeronautical requirements for solo flight.

The next section of requirements that will apply to student pilots are the post solo requirements. These are the requirements that have to be met before you can go on your solo cross countries.

Flight Test requirements: In order to be eligible for the private pilot practical test you must meet the final requirements. At this point in time you will have to meet the general requirements for the private pilot license as well as all the student pilot requirements. There are both aeronautical experience and aeronautical knowledge requirements included within these regulations. That is ground instruction and flight instruction.

Many times the student doesn’t realize what is exactly required, this can add up to more flights if something is missed by the flight instructor. The pilot examiner picking up these missed items on the day of your flight test is the worst case scenario. So you want to understand that there are more requirements than just the general aeronautical experience requirements needed for the flight test.

The reason I always explain this is so the student can get an idea of what is required to do at each stage of your training and then what is required for you to take your flight test. Before you start spending any money, you will want to plan the pilot training process out.

So you are thinking of starting your Pilot Training, you will need to read a lot of manuals to get you through your training. Even though there are different manufacturers, the subject areas are the same but they are presented in different ways. There are many differences in the two major types of publications you will want to look out for.

There are two types of training manuals and handbooks out there are:

1: The FAA. Publications are written and printed by the FAA. The Private Pilot Practical Test Standards will list many of these publications. One thing you want to understand is the fact that the Pilot Examiners are also Designated and Trained by the FAA. If you are on a budget, you want to get what you need for the Private Pilot Flight Test.

Listed below are the most referenced FAA Publications that will have the subject areas you will need for your Private Pilot Training.

Airplane Flying Handbook: The Airplane Flying Handbook covers all your private pilot training maneuvers

Pilots Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge: This Publication will cover most of the aeronautical knowledge areas and many of the flight maneuvers required for your private pilot training

Aviation Weather: This book explains all aspects of weather. You will need to be able to explain different types of weather systems on your Private Pilot Practical Test

Aviation Weather Services: This is the FAA publication that explains how to interpret all of the weather info. This is the FAA’s Guide on how to read the weather reports and forecasts that are available through the FAA and Flight Service Stations.

There are other publications known as advisory circulars. Detailed information on subjects are printed in the FAA Publications. An example of one of these publications is “Uncontrolled Airport Operations”

2: Aftermarket Publications: There are many publications that have been made up and known as industry standard. There are in cases some things missing that are published in the FAA publications. When you meet the Pilot Examiner who will conduct your flight test, you will be expected to understand and be able to explain what the FAA Publications state about the task listed in the practical test standards for the ground portion of your Flight Test.

Perfect examples are the many airport guides that you can find published by many different companies. If you bring these publications into a flight test and not the FAA publications, in some cases it can result in a notice of disapproval for the reason that you aren’t using what the FAA has published.

One thing that most students and many instructors don’t understand is the fact that the Practical test standards for your Private Pilot Practical test are based on the FAA publications. In the reference section of the practical test standards, there is a list of all the publications that are used to make up the practical test standards.

On the day of your flight test, you will want to know what the FAA says about the tasks listed in the practical test standards. I have seen many times a student will reference a non FAA publication and some times it will result in a disapproval notice because the applicant is expected to have knowledge of the related FAA publication. Not what your flight instructor thinks the FAA wanted to say.

The FAA Practical Test Standards are the outline the Designated Pilot Examiner will use to conduct your Private Pilot Flight Test so always remember this. The evaluation process is designed so that they follow them. You will also notice a reference to the FAA publication in each area of operation listed in the practical test standards. You are expected to know these things.

So remember that if you are using aftermarket publications and manuals for your flight training; that is fine, just make sure you bring the FAA Publications to your flight test and be able to explain them.

Good luck becoming a Private Pilot and Hope to See You in the Sky

Americans are always on the go, be it between States or in and out of the country. Their most preferred way of travel is flying and they have pretty good reasons to choose it. Flying is faster and keeps you away from the hassles and headaches of having to drive around. However, when it comes to the cost you have to bear, sometimes many Americans turn down on airfare offers.

Reseachers point out that domestic airfare has dramatically declined by 2% in 2007 but the travelers don’t seem impressed. But how can you find the best domestic airfare, with the most competitive prices? Surprisingly, this all can be done online. Domestic airfare can be quite costly if the trip is unplanned or has to be made in a rush, but knowing a couple of months earlier about a trip can help you cut down on the cost of domestic airfare dramatically.

There are many offers online for early-bird purchases of air tickets. Rule number two is to purchase the tickets directly from the airline to become eligible for offers and to save up on the usual money you’ll spend on third party agents.

Rule number three, choose the carrier you want to fly with because the airline can certainly bring down or take up your domestic airfare rate. Some airlines provide superb customer services and comforts while others will make sure devastated. So settle for the best domestic airfare rate that comes with best quality of of service. This is where your social skills come in to play. Ask around from friends an family and be informed about which airlines provide best of both worlds.

Rule number four is to be extra careful when buying tickets online because online portals are not always secured enough for your credit cards. Therefore, do not purchase domestic airfare promotions on any website other than the official airline website or recommended affiliates. At the end of it all, you need to be able to feel the gratification that you got your money s worth of the domestic airfare from the airline.

Are you looking for useful eye wear for your traveling? Just visit crews safety glasses which provides numerous prescription safety glasses and related information.
